Shady Acres was founded in 1965 by Dr. Clint and Betty Hines as a ministry to those in need of skilled nursing care. Shady Acres continues to be a family owned and operated business. Clint and Betty's son, David Hines, serves as the Administrator.
We are proud to continue the level of quality and care Dr. and Mrs. Hines worked so hard for.
Shady Acres is listed with the Texas Historic Commission as a Texas Treasure Business Award recipient.

Shady Acres offers many rehabilitation options and prides it self on our numerous therapy success stories. There are many options from occupational, physical, speech and restorative services for both long and short term needs. Our onsite gym allows for various approaches to residents' direct care needs.
In the late 1990's Shady Acres saw the need for a dedicated memory care unit that could specialize in treating dementia patients. Betty's House is a dedicated 32 bed community that provides care in a secure unit with its own activities, dining room, and outdoor area. Betty's House was one of the first dedicated memory care units in the region.

Shady Acres is ready to assist your family in any situation. If care giving tasks are become too much, we can assist and let you take a few days off. Let your family stay with ours, and see why we strive to make a difference.

Shady Acres began as a ministry to the community and we are proud to sponsor our own Church. Church Alive at Shady Acres had its first service January 2014. It is a Christian non-denominational service. We invite you to attend Tuesday morning worship services then stay for a delicious lunch with your loved one.
