PRIVATE PAY

Room and board charges are set forth on the Admission Agreement. Any changes to that rate will be implemented after 30 days written notice. Room rates include: a furnished room and board, 24-hour nursing services, meals and snacks, satellite TV, recreation/activities, housekeeping and laundry services.

Semi-Private Room - $130 per day
Studio Private Room - $155 per day
Private Room - $190 per day

MEDICARE

In-Patient, Part A

If you need SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) care, you may be covered by Medicare Part A. Skilled care is health care given when you need skilled nursing or rehabilitation staff to manage, observe, and evaluate your care. It is available only for a short time after a hospitalization. Medicare will cover skilled care only if all of the following are true:

-You have Medicare Part A and have days left in your benefit period
-You have a qualifying hospital stay of at least 3 consecutive days with in the last 30 days
-Your doctor has decided that you need daily skilled care
-You get these skilled services in a facility that has been certified by Medicare

A qualified resident is entitled up to 100 days of care per spell of illness. Medicare Insurance pays 100% of the first 20 days of the benefit period. The resident pays a deductible for days 21-100. ($170.50 per day set by Medicare for 2019)

 

Medicare does not pay for private rooms. However, Shady Acres tries to provide a provide a private room for those admitted for Part A short-term therapy and plan to return home after their therapy goals have been met or 100 days have elapsed. Note: it is important to consult with Shady Acres' administration to assess your specific circumstances and needs.

MEDICAID

Medicaid residents are only responsible for their applied income and charges for the following: dental services, barber and beauty shop services, personal telephone services, ophthalmology services and specific personal request items not included in our vendor rates. Applied income is determined by The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP). In most cases, applied income is your monthly social security check less $60.

If certain criteria are met, Shady Acres will accept a Medicaid Pending resident. The resident will be responsible for his/her monthly applied income estimated by Shady Acres business office. Should the Medicaid application be denied the resident will be responsible for the private pay rate for the days of admission.

Suggested Personal Items for Admission

-Seasonal clothing for seven days

-Non-skid shoes, non-skid socks, non-skip house shoes

-Personal items to make the resident feel at home (picture frames, blanket, etc.)

-Laptop, smartphone, tablet (Shady Aces has wi-fi throughout)

Items Not Allowed

Due to the safety of you and other residents, and to remain in compliance with Life Safety Code, the following items are prohibited:

-Portable heaters

-Electric blankets

-Ironing equipment

-Coffeemaker

-Hotplate

-Candles

-Throw rugs

-Sharp objects

-Chemical products (flammable liquids, laundry/house cleaning products, aerosol cans)

-Extension cords or power strips
